bald (BAWLD)
1. No hair on the head; baldheaded, baldpated, hairless, smooth, glabrous: When he grew bald, he bought a toupee.
2. Lacking a natural or usual covering; bare, without cover, treeless, denuded, naked, barren: The mountain is bald above the tree line.
3. Open, bare, undisguised, flagrant, blunt, obvious, unadorned, naked, simple; unequivocable, unqualified, utter: That is a bald falsehood!
bawled (BAWLD)
1. Past tense of bawl (cried loudly); cried, wailed, howled, weeped: The nursery was full of babies who bawled for long periods.
2. Shouted, bellowed, yelled, cried out, howled, clamored: The captain bawled for the sergeant to come immediately.
